About the Wounded Warriors in Action
The Wounded Warriors in Action (WWIA) is a national 501(c)(3) public charity that devotes all of its energy and resources to supporting Purple Heart recipients. The WWIA supports these phenomenal heroes by providing them with the opportunity to participate in world-class outdoor sporting activities, chiefly hunting and fishing.
The WWIA’s mission is to get our Wounded Warriors back in Action. Many great Americans throughout the history of this nation have experienced and truly believe in the tremendous healing power of the Great Outdoors. There is no greater healing potential than connecting with nature and pursuing great achievements both afield and on the water.
The purpose for establishing the WWIA is to provide our Wounded Warriors with outdoor sporting opportunities they would otherwise never have. This is our nation’s opportunity to give something back and to express in a meaningful way, our collective gratitude for their service and great sacrifices these heroes have made.
These exhilarating activities provide our Wounded Warriors the opportunities to re-integrate themselves back into our society; re-enforce the communal aspect of life; to increase self-reliance and self-confidence; and enjoy the wonderful aspects of the great outdoors — all in concert with a cadre of expert sportsmen who share the same values and ethos of the Warriors they support.
The WWIA understands and is committed to the healing power experiencing the great outdoors provides.
